What we do

One shop, from first sketch to repair.

A door this size is not an off-the-shelf purchase. It is designed for the opening, built for the sound rating, and serviced for the life of the facility.

01

Custom door design

Door systems sized and engineered around your opening and your acoustic target, not adapted from a catalog size.

02

Furnish and install

We furnish the full system and install it on site, including electric operation and controls on the larger systems, where a swinging door is simply not practical.

03

Repair and service

Existing elephant doors, acoustic seals, and operators repaired and kept working, including systems we did not originally build.

04

Acoustic and soundstage doors

Large acoustical sliding doors for movie studios and soundstages, built to suppress machinery, traffic, and background sound so a stage stays quiet while the world keeps moving outside.

05

Aerospace and testing facilities

Oversized doors for aerospace, testing, and industrial facilities where the opening is huge, the sound must be controlled, and the door has to work every time.

06

Every configuration the opening needs

Overhead, swinging, horizontal sliding, or a special application, with security and weather resistant features incorporated where the project calls for them.

Why Elephant Doors

Built for rooms where sound is the job.

On a soundstage, a door is part of the recording equipment. If it leaks sound, the take is lost. That is why these doors are built as acoustic assemblies, with seals and insulation inside, and sized to close openings a standard commercial door cannot cover.

The systems run large. Typical elephant doors measure around 18 feet by 20 feet or larger, and the vast majority are electrically operated because of their size.

Our customers include Disney Studios and Sunset Studios. When a studio trusts a door to hold silence on a working stage, that door has to be right.
